Welcome Letter From The Proshop
The 2011 golf season is about to begin and we are all looking forward to a successful season for all of the junior members at St. Andrew’s East. This year’s program has a wide range of activities planned for our juniors that will not only help you to play better but more importantly to enjoy the great game of golf even more.
Please take the time to read this handbook as it will provide you with important information about not only the Junior Program but the club in general. It will make you aware of important event dates, your responsibilities as a Junior Member of St. Andrews East.
I sincerely hope you will enjoy your golf season and please do not hesitate to contact the Professional Staff in the proshop with any feedback or suggestions.
Junior Program Objective
The Junior Program at St. Andrew’s East Golf & Country Club affords all new and young golfers the opportunity to understand every aspect of the game of golf. St. Andrew’s East provides the ideal environment to promote game improvement, etiquette, rules of golf and the overall enjoyment of the golf experience.
We will do our best to provide a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all junior members and guests to enjoy the game of golf. We hope that all participants in the Junior Program will respect all parts of the facility and remember that the most important aspect of the game of golf is to have fun.
Playing and Practice Facility Privileges
· Monday to Friday – Play and Practice anytime
· Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays – after 2:30p.m. for the driving range and after 3:00 p.m. for the golf course
Junior Code of Etiquette
A “Code of Etiquette” is an integral element in the development of each participant in the Junior Program at St. Andrew’s East Golf & Country Club. The club expects all junior members to adhere to the “Code of Etiquette” as it will be used as a guideline for all participants to follow on the golf course, practice facility and the clubhouse area.
The St. Andrew’s East Golf & Country Club intends to present an outstanding opportunity to all of the participants in the Junior Program. The club does so with fair and equitable treatment that is in the best interest of the entire St. Andrew’s East membership.
The intent of the “Code of Etiquette” is not to intimidate but rather facilitate all participants in understanding the responsibility associated with their behavior at St. Andrew’s East.
St. Andrew’s East Golf and Country Club “Code of Etiquette”
· When you are on the property always be on your “Best Behavior”
· Be respectful of other junior members, staff and other golfers at all times
· Be respectful of all of the Rules and Regulations as they apply at St. Andrew’s East
· Try to keep the noise level to a tone becoming of the golf course
· Abusive language, club throwing, cheating, disrespect of volunteers, officials, or abuse of the golf course will be considered a violation of the “Code of Etiquette”
· Remember to treat everyone as you wish to be treated yourself, your day will be more enjoyable
Dress code
Junior male: Preferred dress-
Tailored golf slacks, golf shirts, turtle or mock necks worn tucked in at the waist, sweater or pullover, jackets and rain gear. Tailored shorts, and kind sold in the Pro-shop, and men’s socks, as sold in the Pro-shop, are preferred.
Junior female: Preferred dress-
Golf skirts, culottes, slacks, golf shirts and blouses worn tucked in at the waist, a sweater or pullover, jackets and rain gear. Tailored shorts, the type sold in the Pro-shop are acceptable.
Course Care
· Repair and replace all divots
· Fix ball marks on greens with divot repair tool
· Rake all traps after use
· Do not litter
· Always use mixture provided to fill divots on tees
· Use rules of courtesy with respect to others
Practice Facility Rules
· Dress code applies
· Hit from between ropes in designated area (or mats when required)
· Be respectful of others using the practice facility
· SAFETY AWARENESS APPLIES AT ALL TIMES!!
Handicaps
The handicap system enables each individual to record and track every round of golf played throughout the golf season. Any questions regarding the use of the handicap system should be directed towards the Professional Staff.

Event details
Junior Clinic
The Professional Staff at St. Andrew’s East Golf & Country Club will continue the tradition of providing Junior Clinics to the Junior Membership and to Juniors related to St. Andrew’s East members. Details for the Junior Clinics are as follows.
The clinic will cover of overview of golf course etiquette, golf instruction including short game and long game covering all of the golf fundamentals. Clinic will run from 6:30p.m. To 8:oop.m.
Play with a Pro
Play with the Pros is an opportunity to play 9 holes of golf with one of the Professional Staff. The program runs through the months of June, July and August. Dates for each Professional will appear in the sign-up area in the locker room.
Parent/Junior 9 hole alternate shot
Participants will enjoy a 9 hole net alternate shot event with teams consisting of one adult and one junior. Event will begin at 2:00p.m.Prizes and BBQ will follow the event. Sign-up will be posted in the locker room.
Junior Camp
Throughout the duration of the camp participants will enjoy instruction on all facets of the game, an opportunity to play, learn, and practice. The St. Andrew’s East G&CC Junior Camps promise to be enjoyable, informative and exciting. The camps are appropriate for juniors who have just started, or not yet learned the game. Further Information on the camps is available in the Proshop. The camp will run from 9:30a.m. To 11:30 a.m.
Junior Field Day
Participants will enjoy a 9 hole scramble event in a team atmosphere. Teams (number of participants will dictate) will be divided up by handicaps (or playing ability).
Club and Handicap Championship Tournament
Participants will enjoy a two day golf tournament with gross and handicap divisions. Tee-times will begin at 10:00a.m.
